Terms of Use

1. Who can use Scrappy

You need to be at least 13 years old to use Scrappy, and old enough under the law where you live to enter into this agreement. If you are under 18, you may only subscribe with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms. Scrappy is not directed to children under 13.

2. Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping access to that account secure, and for activity that happens through your device. Your Scrappy data lives on your device, so losing access to the device generally means losing that data — we hold no server-side copy we could restore for you.

3. Your license to use Scrappy

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Scrappy for your own non-commercial cooking. That is the whole of it — we are not granting you any other rights.

4. Things you may not do

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, or try to extract its source code, prompts, or credentials
• Use bots, scripts, or automated tools against our service, or try to work around usage limits or the paywall
• Attack, overload, probe, or disrupt our servers, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute Scrappy or the content it generates as your own product
• Upload anything unlawful, or use Scrappy to produce content that is illegal or harmful
• Misuse the service in any other way that harms us or other users

We may suspend or terminate access that breaks these rules or that threatens the service.

5. What a subscription gives you

Scrappy is a subscription app. A subscription unlocks full access to Scrappy — there is no separate free tier beyond onboarding. That access includes AI fridge scanning and ingredient detection, AI recipe generation, AI-generated recipe imagery, guided cooking with step timers, saved recipes, your pantry and inventory, and savings tracking.

Features evolve. We may add, change, or retire parts of Scrappy over time, and we will not pretend today's feature list is a permanent promise.

6. Plans and pricing

Scrappy offers weekly, monthly, and yearly billing periods. Prices vary by country and are set in App Store Connect. The exact price for your plan and region is shown to you by Apple on the purchase screen before you confirm, and that screen is what governs.

7. Free trials

Some plans may include an introductory free trial for subscribers who are eligible for one. Whether a trial applies to the plan you choose, and how long it lasts, is determined by Apple and shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.

Trial eligibility is Apple's decision — if you have subscribed to Scrappy before, you may not qualify. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts into a paid subscription automatically at the price shown.

8. Billing and renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel.
• To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Your Apple Account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the new period begins.

Apple handles billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, trial eligibility, and notice of any price change. We do not process payments and we cannot issue refunds ourselves — refund requests go to Apple.

9. Managing or cancelling your subscription

Manage or cancel your subscription through Apple Account settings: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Scrappy. You can also reach it from the App Store by tapping your profile picture and then Subscriptions.

Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription, and neither does using "Delete my data" inside Scrappy. Cancel through Apple.

10. Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall Scrappy or set up a new device, Restore Purchases on the subscription screen will restore an active subscription tied to your Apple Account.

11. Usage limits

Scrappy calls paid AI services on every scan, recipe, and recipe image, so we apply reasonable daily limits per device to keep the service sustainable. These are separate budgets, not one shared pool. As of the date above, each device may make per day:

• 140 fridge scans and recipe generations, combined
• 500 recipe image generations
• 100 ingredient-correction uploads, if you have opted into sharing corrections

Limits reset daily at midnight UTC and apply to every device, including subscribers. We may adjust them over time as costs and usage change. If you hit a limit, the app will tell you and the budget resets the next day.

12. AI results can be wrong

Scrappy's ingredient detection and recipes are produced by AI models. They can be incomplete, inaccurate, or simply wrong. Scrappy may misidentify an ingredient, misjudge how fresh something is, miss an allergen, or suggest a cooking time or temperature that is not safe for your food. Treat every result as a suggestion to check, not an instruction to follow.

13. Not professional advice

Scrappy is not medical, nutritional, dietary, allergy, or food-safety advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional. Any calorie counts, macros, or savings figures are rough estimates for general interest, not precise measurements.

You are responsible for verifying, yourself:

• That the ingredients Scrappy detected are actually what you have
• That a recipe contains no allergen you or the people you cook for need to avoid — always read the actual labels
• That your food is fresh and safe to eat
• That a recipe suits your dietary or religious requirements
• That you cook to safe internal temperatures, using published food-safety guidance rather than Scrappy's timings

If you have a serious allergy or a medical condition, talk to a professional and rely on their guidance over anything Scrappy tells you.

14. Your content and the permission you give us

Your photos, ingredients, and corrections stay yours. You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process and transmit the photos you scan, the ingredients and preferences you enter, and the corrections you choose to share — solely to operate Scrappy for you and to improve ingredient detection. This license exists so we can run the service; we do not use it to publish, sell, or share your content.

The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is sent, to whom, and for how long it is kept. Correction sharing is off unless you turn it on.

15. Service availability

Scrappy depends on services we do not control, including Apple, the App Store, Cloudflare, Google's AI services, Superwall, and your own internet connection. If one of them is down or changes, parts of Scrappy may not work. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue the service or any feature. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.

16. Our content and marks

The Scrappy AI name, logo, wordmark, copy, design, software, and other content belong to Scrappy AI and are protected by intellectual property law. Please do not copy, reuse, or pass off our branding or content as your own. You are welcome to link to the site. Recipes Scrappy generates for you are yours to cook, share, and adapt.

17. Termination

You can stop using Scrappy at any time by cancelling through Apple and deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering the service. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply afterwards.

18. Provided "as is"

Scrappy and this website are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that AI output will be accurate or suitable for you.

19. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Scrappy AI and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Scrappy. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Scrappy is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

20. Apple's role

You download Scrappy from the App Store, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies to that download. Where these terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict, Apple's EULA governs for the App Store licence.

Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for Scrappy or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for Scrappy. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

21. Changes to these terms

We expect to update these terms as Scrappy changes. When we make a meaningful change, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Scrappy after a change means you accept the updated terms.

22. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Scrappy AI operates, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
